Michael Firewalker is a medical professional living on Puget Sound in Washington State. Her major life interests are God, her family, the stock market, boating, human sexuality, and the evolution and development of the human spirit throughout history. She sees God as a living loving person who continually communicates with each of us, and who is the principle source of her life awareness in general and her poetic inspiration in particular. This opportunity to share her poetry with others is an enormous blessing to her. She has been writing poetry many years and has never shared it publicly before.
The woman is also an unapologetic iconoclast, and a true liberal from the sixties. She learned to write with the Beat poets in the fifties, the Beats, whose work still seems more alive, powerful and "real" to her than any other kind of poetry. She writes because of "soul", and loves all forms of "soul", in all peoples and cultures and times; She believes "soul" to be the essence of poetry, and the only real reason for writing it, and that "soul" should be allowed to define and dominate all poetic forms. What is soul? Yes. That is, indeed, the question.
