INFORMATION
I have suffered since birth. Tragedies have plagued my journey on this planet, in this body that my soul inhabits.
I write from my heart. I write from pain. I write the words that come to my head and get them onto paper as quickly as possible, because this is my style. It may not always follow poetry guidelines. But I follow my heart and I will always follow my heart. I write the way I speak. It may not always be correct because I speak the tongue that I learned growing up as a child. That is also the way I write. It is my style, whether right or wrong...it's my style. It is my therapy and it is my art.

sher gay: Some days my mind takes control of my hand with pen and i write and I write and I write until the pain goes away. I put it down on paper exactly how the thoughts come to my head. This is my release. This is how I cope. I know how important grammer and spelling and poetry rules are. But I write with a different purpose. I write to pour the blood out onto the paper. The paper soaks my pain up. Then the blood dries. And I feel better.

Shamanlight7: Here's a suggestion ...After you complete a writing....if you can copy then go to your e -mail account and create a folder for all your work and then paste them into your folder,,,Now they are in a secure place if you ever lose them they will always be in your e-mail account...then you can always have a permanent record of them...It's a little effort but it beats the heartbreak of losing your artwork....you may have to use a laptop because some phones are difficult to copy and paste with.

sher gay: Personally, and this is only my opinion, I think writing is as much of an art as painting or sculpting. We, as writers, show our individual styles and flare in hopes to share something that eats away at us from deep within . No everyone may not always like the topic or agree with your words, but that's okay because it's art. A way that we express ourselves. All I hope for is respect. As we all should respect each others words as the gifts that they are. Even If we don't agree, our respect towards the right for us to share openly is a gift that we give each other as writers.

9999pool: "WRITING IS A LYING ART" - so the writerslink website openly advertise. Now how about that. Summarize all there is to say about our writing. LOL.

sher gay: I bow humbly to all of the writers on this site. You all have courage by putting your work, your love, and your heart and souls into your writing for others to read. And that takes courage! Thank you all for accepting me, encouraging me and teaching me !

sher gay: Can anyone tell me how to upload a profile pic from my iPhone?
I do not have access to a pc or laptop, all I have is my cell. Unfortunately all I have to use is this cell.
Thanks!
Sher

DIS-illusioned: If your phone has internet access, locate the picture you want to upload and there should be an icon-button amongst the ones at the bottom of your screen that gives you an option to email the pic. Click that button and email the pic to yourself--your email address. Or, if you have a fanstory.com email then email the pic there.
You might need to access a PC or laptop from a friend or wherever, to transfer the pic from your email to your fanstory profile page ...
Wish I could be of more help. :-p Good luck.

sher gay: I choose to express myself by writing from a place deep within.
I choose to deal with pain through writing. Writing soothes my spirit.
Writing gives my spirit peace.
I choose to write openly, without hesitation, in the most raw and pure form. My emotions flow into my hands and I begin to type, nonstop, until I write the last line. I don't sit and ponder topics to write about. Often when meditating is when I feel the need to purge my soul of the pain. It's sort of like telling a poetry story in small segments and i can reognize each memory that id rather not keep in my head. The segments, each one different, accumulated together create one huge story . Each individualized clip in my mind has a beginning, middle and end. They are tragedies that have turned my life around for the positive. These lessons are lessons I never want to repeat.
I write so that I'm true to myself and the reader. Yes, it's raw and brutally honest. It's not sugar-coated.
It is what I experienced and the way I wish to share . I hope it helps people out so they know they don't have to give up. Life is precious.

sher gay: An artist is an artist if they are true to their work. Being true to your passion sometimes means you will face criticism by those that wish to inflict their beliefs or morals on your work. As an artist, I believe that to fully enjoy the masterpieces of another, I have to leave prejudices at the door. So that I can feel what you wish for me to feel when I I

A writer, true to his craft, worries not about the reprecussions of his words.... A writer must give his/her work a true and honorable truth notated the consequences of narrow minded individuals.

Stalking Wolf: So, true, I think many are really trying to help with all the spag, stuff, and are good people, one person who was new, gave me a 1, then realizing that it was not all about the spag, not English 101, is now a great friend of mine, a talented writer and we are fan buddies, so, don't let a bad rate or 2 get you down.

sher gay: I am new to this site. I have always liked writing from the heart. It sort of is a way to tell my story without telling my story. It soothes my heart. I don't worry about spelling or grammar because since I write from soul, then I write phonetically. I would love your tips. Please be kind when critiquing my words. This is a healing for my wounded heart. I am 46 and only now brave enough to share my thoughts. Namastè

sher gay: Thank you. Writing, though I know my work is not professional, is truly from digging down into that gut wrenching place in my soul and writing it down.

rosehill (Wendy): Welcome to fanStory and I am glad to see that your writing soothes your heart. I see your disclaimer about spelling or grammer, but a little discipline in that area would be soothing for everyone who might want to read and review your work. I understand the release of emotion, believe me. But it can also be healing to take those raw emotions that you have spewed and shape them into something that is beautiful. . .sort of a slap in the face to the pain that caused their existance. If you remain in the chaos of that pain, it wins. You should try and take control. You might find great satisfaction there.
