I am a young woman who loves reading, writing, and drawing. These arts are in my blood, I think.

I draw a lot of inspiration for my writing from my daily life and I like to think I have a decent pool to pick from.

I was born in Germany and moved to the U.S. at a young age. I've seen and traveled most of Europe. I am in the military and as a result have met and experienced myriad things unique to that lifestyle.

I am nothing special, though I like to think I'm far from ordinary, and I thank you all for reviewing my work.

L. Sherman: After a long absence, I have returned to this site. Sadly, it's probably too little, too late. My subscription runs out later this month and because of certain extraneous circumstances, I don't know when/if I'll be able to return to this site.

So for everyone who has ever read or reviewed my work, and for all of you who have offered me advice or support, I thank you all sincerely and wish you will as you move into the next year and beyond.

Mike K2: That's what launched me into poetry! I did a small six line, five sylable poem and got a one star and two video page review ripping it apart, it ended with, "Well, maybe you call yourself a poet, but let me assure you, you are not one."

I only used a video page of type to not only defend my work, but to tell him how much trouble a simple love poem got me in as they didn't want me to go to Les Vages to readed it. I concluded with, "Actually I consider myself a poetic writer, but as you can see I sure as hell have suffered like a true poet!" I think that generated a lot of interest both on this site and at the convention.

I don't let bad reviews get me down, and it is more important to assess the reviewer so you can determine the relative importance improving you as a writer. I let a lot of new people come on, so I don't get the best or most just reviews; and there are some members here who have alterior motives. I don't worry about the stars, just whether or not my poetry does as I indended it to do.

L. Sherman: I've decided to compile the book of Poems 'Warm Hearts, Wet Noses', which is a collection of poems about shelter pets/rescue animals and the issues surrounding them. My hope is that I can self-publish it at some point and donate the proceeds to rescue organizations and local shelters. Anyone have any pointers for starting this endeavor or that would like to help/contribute? Please let me know!
