I've enjoyed writing poems for a very long time. Not having been schooled in writing I wrote for my eyes only, and for many years kept a shoe box full of poems, finished and unfinished, secreted away under the bed. It housed snippets of paper, words written on the backs of envelopes, and even paper napkins. The shoe box held my work in progress, long forgotten at times as I raised four children. Unbelievably, neither husband nor kids found it. I guess I'm the only one who cleans under there. You have heard of coming out of the closet. I am coming out from under my bed. Some may tell me I should stay under the bed, but I am hopeful that in shedding light on my secret hobby I will learn from other writers with both wisdom and experience.
Don't wait for the storm to end; learn to dance in the rain.

emjaihammond: Finally, I get some time to be back with Fanstory. I've really missed reading the work of my fellow writers on this site and I am anxious to start writing again. In the past months I have published a second children's book. Angels in Training is for sale through Amazon. I look forward to catching up. I've already read some wonderful poems and writing and hoping to spend a quiet Sunday afternoon reading more. Thank you for your patience. I hate being away.

emjaihammond: I'm sorry to be away for such a long time. I've really missed FS and am so glad to be able to get back to writing and posting. Please bear with me as I get back on my feet. I'll be back at reading and following all of you in the next few days. It's been a while, but a few things have gotten in the way that I couldn't avoid. Even so, I look forward to catching up. Thanks for your patience.

emjaihammond: I have been getting to know how to navigate my way through this site the past couple of days. I'm slowly becoming a little more familiar with how things work. It seems to be a great way to try my wings.

emjaihammond: Just an early morning note of thanksgiving. My daughter, Katie, gave birth to a healthy little girl yesterday. As many have read in early poems and stories from April, I was anxious for them. They are both doing well. Cora has joined our family at 6 lbs and 10 oz. Just wanted to share this wonderful event. Thanking God for His goodness.

emjaihammond: Well, it's official, Steve and I are empty nesters! Our son was married last Friday. But for now, there is plenty of activity with grandchildren all here in town. I have the boys today and tomorrow then switching off to have the girls. Isn't it funny how 3 little boys is equal to all seven girls? I'm just sayin'!
