WalkerMan: This is indeed a sad day for all of us here at FanStory.
Mike, though I did not know you well, I admired the positive difference you clearly were making to everyone here. You personified the core purpose of this site as writers helping fellow writers to improve, and the proof of that is evident in the tributes you are receiving in others' messages today.
The one time I requested your help, you were unhesitating in your efforts, which proved successful. Thank you again for that.
In my heritage, one is never truly gone until no one is left to recall him or her. Accordingly, we celebrate our fond memories of those who touched our lives, however briefly. We call that Remembrance Unto Life. In that spirit, know that all of us here WILL remember you fondly for the rest of our lives; and your legacy will endure here at FanStory as well.
To your wife, family, and friends dealing with both sorrow and unexpected tasks, may you find the strength to get through this time until the joy of having known such a good soul becomes your principal memory of his life.
-- Mike

Mary Wakeford: I learned of Michael's passing through a friend's post on Facebook this morning. I am greatly saddened.
Though I have been absent from the site for over a year, Michael was a rock star and a reviewer everyone hoped to hear from.
Michael's contributions from a literary standpoint were genious. His contributions from the heart were thought-provoking and creative, always giving one pause to consider, or reconsider an issue or situation.
My thoughts are with his family and friends, many here on FS.
May Michael Cahill's torch light up the Heavens, and shine back to us through the stars.

Brigitte Elko: I am shocked. Michael was a great mentor for me and one of the first people to purchase my autographed book. His wit, insight, and talents will be missed. I am sorry beyond compare to loose a friend. My condolences to his family and all the neighborhood children that loved his stories. Sympathy and prayers of peace to all that knew Michael. Rest in Peace, dear friend.
