INFORMATION
I spent the earlier years of my life with my mother at grandpa and grandma's little log cabin in the Smoky Mountains, as we had no place else to go. My father, a Green Beret, was killed in Korea in 1955, the year I was born. I never knew him.

After graduating from High School at Gatlinburg, Tennessee, and from Vanderbilt Law School in Nashville, Tennessee I entered the U. S. Air Force in late 1980 with the goal of becoming a 'Joint Services Special Forces Commando' inspired by my older cousin, an Army Green Beret, who fought and died in Vietnam. There was a pocketful of assignments both State Side and Overseas to include, Air Force Explosive Ordnance Disposal, and Joint Services Commando Schools at Hurlburt Field, Florida. After graduation I met a beautiful lady, we were married, and I became the luckiest man alive. I served in Operation Desert Storm (Iraq) in 1990-1991. After active duty in 2010, my wife and I relocated to the Panhandle of Florida. I began working with Joint Services Commando Advisory Operations in Iraq, Afghanistan, Turkey, American Legion and Disabled American Veteran Organizations, both Local and National, then St. Jude's Children's Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.

I lost my wife in August 2016. She died of a blood clot in an artery. What a void! I'm presently co-authoring 'Love Long Distance,' 'An Angel in the Meadow,' 'My Jigsaw Puzzle, The Missing Piece,' and 'Joined at the Hip' with Cathy Waldron, aka 'Tootie' an awesome writer on FanStory. Meeting and writing with you is an honor! Best wishes wherever you are and God Bless.
Respectfully,
Bill

Commando: Dear Friends,
Writing is unarguably a passionate art form. Through the centuries, it has provided us with an outlet for exploring our innermost thoughts and emotions. Regardless of the style or subject chosen, we are able to express our intimate feelings using this ancient tradition. It allows us to communicate issues that we might not be able to otherwise openly discuss. It as well affords us the opportunity to reevaluate ourselves, our relationship with others, our station in life and the world around us. Writing may also be therapeutic, allowing us to work through issues in our lives to find solutions, clarify, comfort, and peace of mind. It is by virtue of this versatility that the art of writing has remained strong century after century. Sharing my thoughts with you, and having your support along the way is an honor. Best wishes and God Bless.
Respectfully with Admiration,
Bill

Tootie: Thank you so much for sharing this. So very true! Many of us find it hard to express ourselves verbally, but we can share our thoughts and feelings through poems and stories. When we read other writings, we can find our own feelings in them and realize we all have similar insecurities, confusions, joys, loves, etc. Yes, so very comforting. Through writing, we are able to let our inner voice, which is the real us, come out. We can create stories from not only our experiences, but from our imaginations, expanding our own limited boundaries. What a feeling that is when it pours out onto the page! It is such a pleasure co-authoring with you, Bill. I know that as we finish each chapter in Love Long Distance, as well as our other novels, I feel ecstatic that we, together, created these stories through our experiences and our imaginations, Through writing, we are creators! Wow! Let's keep on writing! Best wishes and God Bless. Respectfully with Admiration and Truckloads of Love, Cathy
