INFORMATION
I grew up in Shanghai with an Italian-Dutch-indonesian father and Chinese mother. Exiled by the communist regime in 1952, we sailed to Italy where we stayed five years before the remainder of my family immigrated to the United States. Ten years after that I moved to Brazill to be with my engineer husband. Back in 1980, I began researching and writing my five novels. I also have two story/essay/poetry collections; stories and essays have won nine first-place awards and a nomination to the Pushcart Prize.

Lucille Bellucci: Writing tight, effective prose (unless the work is literary) evades the beginner until he/she has served the necessary hard-won apprenticeship. Thirty-four years at the keyboard has taught me some of that. The short stories, essays, and poetry have earned nine first-place awards and a nomination to the Pushcart Prize. None of those came easily. If you care to see my output, www.authorsden.com/lucillebellucci will get you there.

Dean Kuch: You site looks wonderful, Lucille. Heck, you've been writing a bit longer than I have. Now, I don't feel quite as old as I once did, so thank you very much for that!

Lucille Bellucci: One of the finest aspects of being in America is the public library. I was always a voracious reader and am happiest in a bookstore or between library shelves. Those represent riches to me. I hate seeing society's current distraction by the variety of electronics being used everywhere. Reading loses out and society and general thoughtfulness lose out.
