susand3022: Hi Everyone!
So much for the lazy summer... I'm now babysitting long hours for Aliea, who's 4 and extremely exhausting. I may make it back here from time to time, but please don't be too upset with me if I don't get here as much as I usually do... this kid takes a lot out of an old lady like me! :)

Wish me luck people! :)

susand3022: Hi Everyone,
Thank you to all of you who have supported me through this difficult time. Now that the worst part is over, I'm back to the 125 messages I've got... and the 25 reviews on the poem I wrote for my mother! I'm sure she's very pleased to know she has five 6's! I also want to thank Pam Respa for the extra bumps... Thanks, Pam!!! Hugs!!!
Thank you all again,

Pam (respa): I just noticed your note, Susan. You are so welcome for the support and you deserved to have the poem pumped, too. It meant a lot to me to do it.

susand3022: Hello, Friends... I know I've been a bit MIA lately, not quite my usual presence here... but my Mom is in a bad way. She's almost 92 and so, it's taking a lot of the time I would normally be here. Yesterday she went into the hospital and will be there for at least a few days. After that, we're talking about palliative care or possibly even hospice. Either way, my sister and I won't have to do so much of the "heavy lifting" as it were... not that we minded doing it... (if only my Father would Wi-Fi the house!)
I'll pop in, here and there as I can... just to get away from it all, I expect. Family will start showing up tomorrow from outside RI and things will become more hectic, I'm sure.
As for now, I need rest and Mom needs prayers for comfort. Love you all... Susan

Minglement: I'm so sorry I didnt see this earlier and so sorry you're having to go through this. At least you know your mom is being cared for. Know that you are in my thoughts and prayers in this difficult time . How blessed you are to have your mom still with you ;) Hugs, my friend.

susand3022: Hi Friends,
Sorry about being MIA this weekend... I have so many messages! I've been having a bit of a family emergency with my Dad in the hospital unexpectedly overnight and staying with my Mom so she wouldn't be alone. No Wi-Fi in the house (my Dad would still be on dial-up if he didn't have cable! In fact, he is, up in VT where he's on satellite!) ... Ut oh... there's the phone... back to Narragansett! I may or may not be around as much for a few days! He'll be fine though! Full of what my mom calls "piss and vinegar" LOL :)

jsholmeg: Hi, Mirela...uh, Susand. I'm a former New Englander now living in N.M. Spent a summer long ago in Jamestown; one of the best ever! Only 15 but had a very long leash. Remember going to Narragansett to watch the World Surfing Championships and popping a few 'Gansetts.
    All for now. Adios amiga.

susand3022: To all of you who have helped me these last few months since I have come to FanStory:
I have just found a bunch of my old writing that I have been looking for for quite some time now. I looked at one poem and I just can't believe how much better I am now than I was then!
Here's to all of you for making me all that I can be! May I be able to return the favor to those who are coming after. :)

susand3022: Hi!

I want to thank all of you, all 122 of you at last count, who replied to my review poll. I know some of you will be angry, some no doubt thought it was nothing more than a run for the money, as it were. It wasn't. I always intended to review each piece in your replies, as requested.
I had asked the question earlier, in my New Years Resolution, was applauded for the idea by most, put the rest aside as those who just wanted their ribbons and bows and moved on, so as not to be yelled at and have to deal with the retaliation.
I'm sorry for those of you I already know and adore that got caught up in my little tantrum, but I got lied to for the last time, hit a wall and just lost it like a 2-year old. I needed to meet new people, knowing first what they expected, to save myself the aggravation. I want it Real, not Memorex. I started in the area I usually frequent then bounced around to meet new people. For those of you who were worried about being put on a "list" rest assured, it was only for me not for any type of FanStory publication. It was just to save myself the aggravation. I will be answering these in the order they arrived, and they came pouring in rather quickly so don't be surprised if it takes a day or 3 to hear from me! Thank you for your patience...

I'm glad to be out of my room... it's hard going to bed without dinner after you've been taken out behind the woodshed and had your ass turned red... ;)

Sarkems: I think it was a good idea, and I'm sorry you were put in FS jankers for it. Fair play to you for going back and reviewing. For the record, I'd be an 'honest feedback' person, but I didn't have a post up when you were doing the rounds.

susand3022: I truly want to thank everyone on FanStory who reviewed my poem, Forever More, and sent good wishes to my Mom during her recovery. I was reading her some of these reviews while she sat in that dreaded nursing home fully anticipating her release.
She saw the picture and her first comment was about my father and the fact that he most likely didn't even taste the champagne in his hand! I said, "No! I'm sure he dipped the tip of his tongue in before he put it down. It was his own wedding!" We had a giggle over that. She read the poem and really liked it. (Thank goodness!)
I read her the four or five reviews that were there at the time. She kept asking me who wrote that one and how did they know she was here with a bad hip?
She was very touched by all of your well wishes as am I. She should be sprung by the end of the week. :-) Thank you all again. Susan
