I am a busy nurse who is loving life, loving Jesus, loving my husband and all my many children (Kids, grandkids, foster kids). In my 30 minutes of spare time...I write. |

Laine Carson: Thank you! I am always so excited to win a contest! I did not feel the words adequately expressed my experience so I am thrilled that people still related.

Laine Carson:
I am just curious. How many of you enter contests and write your entry now and in just a few minutes? How many of you spend more than a few hours?

mrsmajor: I'd love to be able to just jot something down quickly, but it does take me time to create a poem I'm satisfied with..

nancyjam: Most times I spend several hours, sometimes days if I put it away to think about it. Everyone works differently though.
If it's for a contest then I really do spend more time. Nancy

alf collier: If I am going to write, I write while the muse is there, so when I start I have to finish it...usually within ten or twenty minutes. Epics may take an hour or two...LOL

DR DIP: Virtually all my poems are written in minutes, many inspired by an image or photo or wherever my muse takes me.
They are spontaneous and impromptu
Don't think I could do it any other way.

Laine Carson: Thank you all for your reply. I love to see the variety of styles. I also asked to see if maybe I should do it differently, but it sounds like we all do things our own way.
