Dick has written and self-published a five novel serial killer mystery series set mostly in New England. When the men don't get you...the women will.
Dick has also written a romance novel using Dixie Waters as the pen name - 'What do men know about love? More than women think!"
He has also published two Anthologies. Many of his flash fiction stories have won in competition and have been published elsewhere. |

A writer's greatest compliment is when the reader likes it enough to read it again.
Thanks FanStory.

Dick Waters:
There was a time when I did so much reading at work, that it wasn't a joy to read at home. Then, two cancers slowed me down and reading was something that took my mind off things.
Then I realized that I had some stories kicking around in my head, and I started writing for me.
After a few self-published books, I'm trying to write what I hope the reader will enjoy.
Thanks for listening.

Dick Waters:
There was a time when I did so much reading at work, that I hated to read books at home.
Then I had two cancers in the same year, and it forced me to read. I got hooked on two authors who wrote short chapters.
I felt I could write a novel, but when my wife laughed at me, I had to write it.
I wrote a five-novel series for me.
Now I write with the hopes of somebody else enjoying what I write.
All of the encouragement I get...keeps me writing.
Thanks for listening.

Marjon van Bruggen: Writing is a pleasure. For some also a way of life (I think I cannot live fully if I couldn't write) but above all a pleasure. If you like to write a novel, then do it, even if it only for the joy of it. Doesn't matter if it ever gets published. Just sit and do it, Dick!

I wish many more people would have had him as a teacher and a friend. It was a special gift to know him, and as many of us feel...to love him.
Thanks for the many memories Mr. Kelley.
