So jealous when I read the notes, brother. I would love to have travelled through those above places. I can see why those place and lack of communication can give you the inspiration for the poem.

Chapter 36 of the book A Grain Of Wheat

Exceptional

It reads like a script for a movie when you jump to another scene and shift focus back to what others are doing like you did at the end. Definitely gripping with our scout trying to figure out how to save himself and the others. I can see how an Indian scout makes himself twice hated than the others. No country for Indian scouts. Enjoyed this more, as the action and tension rise.

You have a good voice. The first person narrative works and brings in the hearty but gritty way of life. You write this, as if you have lived this homesteading kind of life. I love those shows, especially the ones who rescue a homesteader. Love the scene at the end with the deer and the stream.

Thanks Bro. I have written many scripts and won awards in the past, I suppose it is my blood. LOL.

Thanks so much for your review and comments. So true. You can see that scary shark. The virus is a silent killer and sneaks up on its prey. judi

I'm thinking you had fun with this poem. But when you do an article or poem, it has a serious message in it. I suppose one could think in terms of getting covid a bit more of a threat than getting bit by a great white. Still the shark scares me more. Lol

You couldn't have said anything that would have pleased me more, my friend. I love Emily Dickinson poetry. Your review is very poetic too, you know. Thank you so much for reading and reviewing. I appreciate everything you said.

This was like an Emily Dickinson. It had that deep and heart breaking appeal to it. Sometimes our wounds lay hidden behind the smiles, but are deep and bleed unseen from the inside.

Thank you so much for a great review. I think cerulean is sort of a medium shade of blue.

Cerulean is a shade of blue? I learn something new everyday, thanks to you. I imagined a thick, dark, deep blue here in the mermaid water? Am I wrong. The picture helps. You bring a unique approach to poetry, it least in my opinion. You never fail to surprise and delight.

Misty, you did a great job with this installment. Sorry, I'm just playing catch up here. But I love the action in this one and how Granny surprises everyone with her penchant for mayhem. I think the whole unique story idea keeps the reader with an intense interest to see how it will play out. You deserved a nomination for this!

Hi Stan! Thank you again, I am so tired and down, but still love to write. I'm always so honored and happy when you like my stuff. I sure hope you and yours are happy and well...And the six stars shine so bright. I like them once in a while. :)

Love how you made this horror story about love lost and found. I forgot until now how special your writing is. In many ways this story reminds me of the lonely lady and the story you wrote years ago about the Wind personified. If I could give you more than six, I would. Your poetic prose goes unmatched!

Hi Stan.
I have been called some ugly names here because of some of my posts. After a while, it is just noise. Thank you for your review and positive words. Much appreciated.

Really thought provoking poem about police service these days. I'm afraid you are a voice in the wilderness of those who can't see the Purge of cities taken over by gang violence.
