Thanks. 2 dogs. 2 cats. Formerly, guinea pigs and hamsters, but you know what happens with them. Mark

Wonderful essay on dogs and cats from their perspective. Very creative and humorous. You have the personalities of these pets down pat. You have to be a pet owner yourself. Just shows.

I understand. I am also a pensioner. I would never dream of spending real money to buy funny money. I spend lots of time reviewing to earn enough funny money to adequately promote one posting per week (with an occasional second one).

Another great chapter, Adrian. Your plot line gets curiouser and curiouser, to quote Lewis Carroll. I'm looking toward seeing your next chapter. Great read! BTW, how do you acquire so many reviews? I seem to receive only two per story/poem. I know you're going to keep up your great work.

Many thanks for this great review. 'Your plot line gets curiouser and curiouser' -- 'You ain't seen nuffin yet,' to quote someone also, although I've no idea who it was. I am delighted you are enjoying T&A.

On the subject of increasing the number of reviews, there are three main elements:
1. You need to promote each piece with a reasonable amount of funny money -- this is all part of the very clever FS game. I tend to promote my postings, with occasional exceptions, with $1+. This does two things -- it puts the piece onto the list on the Welcome Page (a huge factor, I suspect), and it attracts people to review who are frantically scrabbling together enough funny money to promote their next posting. You can also use funny money to obtain on-site adverts for your piece.
2. You gradually build up a following of 'fans'. These fans are automatically notified by FS whenever you make a posting. I see that you are a relative newcomer to FS (Big Welcome!). You will need some patience to build up your following.
3. There are ways of self-promoting as well, if you are brazen enough! I have only recently taken this up, with the chapter-by-chapter posting of my novel, 'Time & Again'. Whenever I post a new chapter I message everyone who has reviewed a previous chapter (apart from fans who are already covered) to notify them that the next chapter has been posted. You are such a person -- you're on my list!!

I hope this helps,
Adrian

Jim, if it were possible, I'd give your beautiful poem 10 stars at least. What a tragedy you've endured and continue to endure. Alzheimer's is such an insidious disease. I know God blesses you and your lovely bride. I only wish she could come back to you and for you. You're my kind of guy.

A very nice entry, I enjoyed it immensely. I'm usually glad to reach the end of most of the stories on the site but I found myself wishing this one wouldn't end quite so soon. Good luck and God bless. Jim

Great read, alf collier, and wonderfully written. I could envision the crafts person as they carefully, and lovingly, constructed their tall ship. Truly deserving of the five stars.

Cat of Letters
Hi Jack,

Zahir seems to have a innate literary flair. I think it could be breed related. I recently discovered a book by another Turkish Angora, translated from Greek. It is called 'Seven Lives and One Great Love' and it is excellent. Angoras have to do something to make up for being haughty and jumping on every surface in sight!

Best wishes, Alison

You've done it again, Alison. Great read. I'm looking forward to your. . .er, Zahir's next episode. Damned talented, that Angora. Did you give him writing lessons?

Cheers!
Jack
