Dear lancelllot, All in one single chapter you have taken me from wondering about this strange world that all these characters inhabit, and then scare me to death with knowing the spiders were within the walls of the castle. I fear that in the next chapter we will learn that Crista and Pam have been taken by the spider to feed her children.

Absolutely. That's my plan... hope. dream. I actually have one reader here who's going through this book sharing her opinion of which poems to include! HUZZAH! Thank you!

Dear robyn, Did you tell me, or did I just wish it, that pieces of little poems like this one; be included in a volume of similar posts, that we could purchase on Amazon some day?

A really strong finish to a thoughtful poem with those last two lines.
The human mind is truly a machine made out of mazes. It both amazes and ceases to amaze at the most inopportune times. A force to be reckoned with whether its being used for good or evil. But indeed, with our heart, our compassion we can charm it and tame it to function for the greater good.
Well done and best wishes for the contest!

God gave us free will to believe or not. I choose to believe but I do not judge others. My work has improved (In my mind at least) because I believe in God. I believe that you do believe in God because your poetry shows it. I do hope I have answered your question without offending you.

Your poem moved me in such a way to realize that God is in control. He gave us free will but I'm not sure that was good for man if he doesn't believe in the Almighty in the first place.

Dear JLR, Your four line poem is a worthy contender in this contest. The only suggestion I would make is to move you're a five syllable lines more to the left and that way your last line will not lap over, and look sort of funny and be lost to the eye on smaller electronic devices.

This work has reached the exceptional level

Wow! Loved your poem, Suzanna! You made great use of internal and end rhymes and powerful use of metaphor from the mountains and seas of emotions and the call to one's heart to "banish corruptions." May the Lord "make straight the way to wise understanding."
Hope you do well in the contest!!

This is a well-written poem, depicting how our emotions can cloud our thinking and affect our relationships. I like the lines: "Rise up oh my heart!
to banish my mind's corruptions." When thoughts enter our mind that are not wholesome, we need to start thinking good thoughts instead.

The flesh always struggles with the concept of perfection, because like eternity it plays havoc with the finite mind, This is so beautifully written dear Suzanna, you have painted the anguished struggle of the finite struggling to lay hold of the infinite, but God understand and is our rescuer, He never wanted to consign our souls to the ignominy of a futureless existence. Well done, a great prayer. Blessings Roy
