A Poem about a great conservative.

R.I.P. Rush

by Becky Kern-Taylor

Adding to all of our grief, pandemic weather and such.
News just came out this morning, A man that we'll miss so much.
Moved on to better pastures, I'm sure he's talking with God.
Asking why he was chosen, which he always thought was odd.

When did he realize that he had this gift for sharing?
All his conservative thoughts. and did so always caring.
Knowing he'd honestly try, to get all his stories right.
Then when he knew that they were, he always put up a fight.

He started in the nineties, quite serious way back when.
He knew he had a mission, and started his quest back then.
He said, "I never will try, to be someone that I ain't".
And I'm sure everyone knows, Rush Limbaugh was not a saint.

It's said God chooses His leaders, with flaws they cannot deny.
God said he was fulfilling, His plan and this is His why.
He knows we all are sinners, but all of us cannot lead.
Rush took the torch and kept it, not solemnly he'll concede.

So now Rush has left for good, and what are we all to do?
But we must have faith and know, that God will always come through.
He'll find another leader, I'm sure there's someone out there.
And Rush will help from heaven, he'll always be there to share.

But he must do it quickly, things cannot go on as is.
Our country is imploding, but that's our problem, not His.
I once saw a quotation, I think it was on a shelf.
It said the Lord will help us, but we need to help ourself.
