Creation Essay

One with God

by DonandVicki

In the beginning "there" was nothingness. To describe "there" as a void would be mistaken, a void implies empty space. In fact there was no space, no up, no down, no right or left. Time did not exist, no past, present or future. Good and evil did not yet exist, there was only pure love. There was a timeless, non-dimensional singularity and that singularity was with God. Before God created the universe there was only God. Previous to the creation event, you and I, the world, the universe, every atom and molecule were part of this infinitesimal singularity. "We" were part of the One, singular with God.

"Then God said, 'let there be light; and there was light'" Genesis 1:3.

Or, if you prefer, "The Big Bang."

"In the beginning was the word, and the word was with God, and the word was God." John 1:1.

In other words, the universe was spoken into existence.

At that instant, space and time were created. After a period of time, atoms, molecules and all the "stuff" that would become the universe, stars, planets and eventually, you and I existed. We were endowed with consciousness and the gift of freewill. This combination of freewill and consciousness could lead us to believe that we are individual, alone, not part of that singularity and not connected to God. Nothing could be further from the truth.
If we could step outside of space and time with God, what do you suppose we would see? I believe that we would view eternity in both directions, and at the end it will be as it was in the beginning. There will be a vast silence, an eternal non-void occupied only by God and a singularity, we will be One with God.

Recognized

This is a religious, apologetic POV as I view eternity and God. I do not want to insist or persuade, but only to suggest.
Pays one point and 2 member cents.
