The Power of Prayer

by smileycloud

Seeking another person's highest good
This is love

Personally experiencing the depth of one's feelings
This is compassion

Shouldering another's burdens
This is kindness

Being a child of God
This is a Heavenly privilege

Living a life as caretaker to His flock
This is an extreme honour

This is an inimitable way of life

This is a visibly touchable higher plain of existence

This is a special all-embracing cloak of blessedness

My Prayer

Lord allow me to live my life as janitor and shield to Your flock
May I hunger and thirst for their very best of nourishment
Give me the heart to feel their pain and yearning
Install the strength in me to hear and see their woes and bear their cares
Lift me up upon Your shoulders to reside on that multifaceted mountain
Wrap me in Your sacred blanket of selfless power
May all I know live an uniquely blessed way of life in Jesus' name
Feed unyielding love through my veins
Sculpture my bones with kindness
Carve my flesh into masses of rations in empathy
Take me under Your wing as Your child
Make me contagious
Hold my hand as I spread the love disease
creating an almighty epidemic
of compassion and kindness
Help me to receive these talents from You
that I might pass them on
