My Hope and Wish

The Eastern Star

by artemis53

May I see the Star again,
great Grace within the sky
that sent me peace some time ago
and brought me wings to fly
above the frigid, frosted land
I once had dwelt in fear.
Let me know that Star again
and clasp it
through each tear.

May I breathe that subtle Peace
that dwelt upon the Earth
when all was good
and laughter rang
upon a Baby's birth.
And I was then invincible
with You tucked by my side,
two creatures standing stalwartly,
no need to run
nor hide.

I wish to see the vivid lights
that once shone on my soul
that brought me to a fullness,
that 'half,'
turned once
to 'whole,'
who braved the thinnest
of the ice
in which we skated on...
A feat that seemed miraculous
as blades rode through 'til dawn.

So shine on me
with gracious light,
a brilliance,
such as day.
I've lived my life in darkness bleak.
But, You

shall guide

my way.
