A changing heart

A Reversal of Spirit

by Raffaelina Lowcock

Receding from the world I stay apart,
There is a Wintry chill within the air,
Inches of ice have formed around my heart,
That clamp the very coldness of despair.
I pray for reversal and redemption
And, day by day I lose my many fears
from this frozen state of isolation
Slowly a sort of sunny Spring appears.
And now my Summer heart is on display
The melting ice that sprays like falling rain
Will clean the places that are in my way
With blossomed paths that lead to love again.
This time I’ll stay the course without delay
To keep my sanity, no more dismay.
