A very well composed poem about love using various cloth textures. So well integrated into wonderful imagery. This is indeed an original metaphoric poem.

Hi Dragonpoet,

Hahahaha!! This is truly wonderful ?? So so true too. Gave me a chuckle as I went down the years with you in your skillful words all the way to....

"With patience
And faith
You can have
Love as forgiving
As spandex
So it will
Last as long
As polyester. "

Just really funny as heck :)). Loved it!

Have a great day,
Senyai

Interesting prompt! "Cold as lace in winter" was an especially effective line as most of us think of lace as romantic...and yet, like love...it is subject to a whole different perspective! Nice job assigning each of these fabrics a corresponding quality of love...

This poem is beautiful and you really use the fabric to describe the fabric of the love as metaphor. I love all your metaphors, especially the following ones:
Love as forgiving
As spandex
So it will
Last as long
As polyester.

Well done.

A very creative way to write about love. Love has a many-splendoured thing or it's all you need -- and sometimes it's even a battlefield. But regardless of how you define it, love can often be hard to express or put into words. Your poem is another example of describing love.

Yes indeed you rose to the challenge.Your metaphors add up to a whole blanket of poetry! I was constantly surprised as the lines unfolded to great images. I did miss seeing some art to enhance the presentation, Giddy

This is charming. You had me there. I thought your title was a metaphor. :-)
I really like what you did with did and you're essentially correct.
I enjoyed this so much I wish it was longer!
Nicely executed!

Dear Dragonpoet,

It was a delightful pleasure reading your poetry for the first time! You write to eloquently and fluid. The words flow in my mind from one line to the next with pictures as vivid as the artwork you chose for this post. "Cold as lace" threw me off, though. My brain spasmed for a brief second because I've never seen cold and lace used together before!

Looking forward to more!

Thank you for your comments. The full metapor is Cold as lace in winter. It is an enjambed line.
