-Good image and story, Sally.
-I enjoyed reading it.
-You capture the spirit of
some of the chaos than can
happen on a wedding day.
-The dialogue is very good, too.
-The super glue seems to be
the theme in the story.
-Each woman comments on some
version of being "unglued."
-A good ending, but I wonder
if the bride will have her
"happily ever after" marriage.
-A good entry; good luck!

Tis a wedding that will long be remembered. As the years counted all would forget the shoes you all wore. No one will ever forget the barefoot bridal party.

Sally: what an adorable story. The bride is stressed and a mess with broken shoes. Smart idea to go barefoot. She could have worn canvas shoes or sandals. Hope you are having fun being shut inside. ************************** flylikeaneagle

An interesting story for the contest. It flowed well, with a super use of a dialogue. I smiled when I read the bride's question of whether she bought her shoes at Ross (lol). A lot of emotion here, and after all, no superglue was found and they all went barefoot (smile). Quite an imagination here.

I wish you luck in the contest, it should do very well.

Thank you very much for the wonderful review and kind comments, dear muse. I almost got very vera for it since I'm on call and then my husband but I settled for ballet slippers instead. It was winter after all. I'm glad you enjoyed my story. I had a lot of laughs writing it.

A very well-written flash fiction and a priceless solution to a cheap shoe dilemma. Who need shoes to say 'I do' Bare feet us more memorable and less painful at the end of the day.

Yeah, who needs cheap shoes? I think she should be more concerned about marrying a guy she's not sure she wants to be super-glued to. But if he was OK with his wedding party going barefoot, maybe he's not so bad. LOL Thanks for the fun read.

It was everyone's shoes? The whole bridal party's? Lol. This is so cute! And of course, I shop at Ross on senior discount day when I shop at all. Lol Great job with this little story, Sal! Congratulations on the win!

What an eye-catching title! I appreciated the last minute question of being "superglued to this guy for all eternity!" I relished the solution to the problem, with all of them going barefoot. Best wishes in this story contest- Joan

Nicely done. I like the solution to the problem. Why not? Takes a lot of pressure off the bride.

I did have two comments. I gather there are three characters: the narrator/speaker, Gina, and the bride-to-be. If I read that correctly, I think the first paragraph needs to be broken into two paragraphs. The narrator speaks first and then the bride-to-be speaks. Since there are two pieces of dialog, you should add a line break after the first sentence.

Also, "wedding day" should be hyphenated. The two words together modify "composure", i.e. "...wedding-day composure."

Enjoyed the story. Well done.

Good luck. Good writing.

Hello Sal.
This is a different twist on the theme of picking up the pieces. Fortunately, I have NEVER felt compelled to wear high heels. I don't believe they make them in size 14. ???

Good luck in the contest.

I am so tall I don't need high heels in real life. I got married in ballet slippers so I wouldn't tower over my husband. I'm glad you enjoyed this, and I really appreciate the fun review.

You're welcome. I played basketball in college so I don't need high heels either. 😁
