I am not sure how that works. But thank you for reviewing again.

Fascinating story. I have only read this chapter and there were some characters with whom I was unfamiliar, but it held my interest. Heavens -
a blind man and paralyzed girl. What a challenge. I cannot imagine the logistics of their everyday life if they should live together.
One thing I noticed was you said he checked his watch. How did he do that?

Thank you. A previous chapter established the watch talks.

Nice family and all secrets on the table, that how a new relationship should start:. The kids are adjusting to the new situation and we see some sparks of personality coming up:"
"You've been frequently seen in the company of a woman in a wheelchair," Gloria Lawson said. "The school's seen her a couple of times."

"That's Monique," Jefferson said. "I know her. The kids know her and she's friendly towards them."

"What is your relationship with this woman?" Gloria Lawson asked, scribbling something in her notepad.

"We were friends," Jefferson said, knowing the kids were upstairs and couldn't hear him. "Now we're dating."

"Uh-huh," Gloria Lawson said, still making notes. "And do you think it is wise to expose the kids to that sort of thing?" I think this is a well written chapter and completes so well the rest of the book. Thank you for sharing and good luck with your writings.
