GaryCecil: My latest story, The Text has been posted. Enjoy! I went a tad bit on the suspense/dark humor side. :)!

 photo stabbing-knife-hand-shutterstock_103506959-cropped-proto-custom_28.jpg

rosehill (Wendy): Oh how I love a work that is on the cutting edge of writing style. -
Dean Kuch: Suspense & dark humor is good! -

GaryCecil: I should have my next story up by this weekend. I won't tell you too much, but it is called, The Text.

The big idea - A man, just about to leave for work, hears the buzzing of his wife's cell phone on the counter. He grabs the cell off the counter, and sees a text message from a number with no name assigned to it.

It reads : I haven't had sex like that since I was in my twenties. I have not heard from you, and I need to know when I can see you again. Please, text me back.

Rage fills his heart, and he envisions himself throwing the phone against the wall and watching it shatter. He looks at the clock on the coffee maker and realizes he will be late for work.

He goes to work instead, and plots the murder of his wife the whole day.

The choices he makes along the way will change him forever. You will have to read the story to find out if he "gets her", or not. :)!
DIS-illusioned: Gee, thanks for not telling us 'too much' about it.
It's obviously a case of a gross misunderstanding (oops! sorry about my big mouth).
However, if that were my wife, I'd be so on her case about not putting it out like that for me, and demand that the texter 'compensate' me for her--ahem--'services'. (And my mother wonders why I can't stay married). -
    GaryCecil: Hahahaha -

GaryCecil: Have a suspense/thriller in mind. Must...get it out...type! type! I need some coffee!
DIS-illusioned: Hack-saw neatly along the frontal lobe and let the ideas pour forth. -
GaryCecil: Will do! I have been reading Peter Straub's, Ghost Story, and I just cannot put it down! I have, however, put the story down, so I can finish my suspense-driven tale! -

GaryCecil: My story, The Vault, finished in third place for the, 'At the Bank', contest! Thank you all for the support!

DIS-illusioned: So, what was in it--'The Vault'? -
GaryCecil: People... running from infected creatures :)! You should check out the story, it was fun! -
Dean Kuch: From me, and my stable of monsters, congrats, Gary, on your third place finish in the 'At The Bank Contest'...Bravo!

    Congratulations! photo adams-family-blood-zombies-Favimcom-2900681.gif -
GaryCecil: LMAO Thanks, buddy! Got to keep the horror genre alive! :) -
    Lovinia: Congratulations Gary! Well done.

Dean ......... and the applause goes on .... and on .... and .... ends with one hand clapping .......lol

Standing ovation from me too Gary!

Hugs you two, er three .... almost missed you DIS - Lovi xoxooxox -
barkingdog: Congratulations, Gary on you third place win.:) ellen -
    GaryCecil: Thank you all! -
Selina Stambi: Congratulations, Gary - that was some toe-curling tale! :) -
    Christof McTarnahan: Good job Gary,
Nice win for us horror slobs! -
GaryCecil: Thanks again, everyone! :)! -

GaryCecil: Working on the novel version of Bestseller. I have some great ideas boiling! Thanks for all the wonderful feedback! I have taken tiny fragments from some of the comments and I believe they will transcend very well into the full-length novel.
david bell: About your e-book proposal, don't beg, don't sell too cheap, try to build a fan base. Amazon has a WAY YOU GET ON THE TOP OF THEIR LIST. I HAVE SEVERAL BOOKS ON kINDLE, AND OFFTER THEM FOR A GREE READ, WITH LITTLE OR NO RESULRS, THE PROBLEM IS NO ONE KNOWS US AND THERE IS A FOOLD OF SELF PUBLISHING AUTHORS ON aMAZON AND IN E-BOOKS, TRY TWITTER, FACEBOOK AND LINKET TO PROMOTE YOUR WORK, DO FREE READINGS AND WORKSHOPS -
Cookie333: I wish I had a kindle, I would certainly download the version to support. I am afraid that I am technologically challenged,

GaryCecil: My new story, Bestseller, just released today! Grab a cup of coffee and enjoy it!

GaryCecil: The first draft of the new story is complete. Now its time for ever-so-joyful task of editing!

GaryCecil: A new story is eating away at my insides. I have to get this out! It might be a month before you all see it, but I have a good scare coming for you.
shelley kaye: does it involve chewed up intestines dripping blood? lol

    -
GaryCecil: Blood, yes, but as of right now there will be no chewed up guts. haha -
Christof McTarnahan: No masticated organs? How about a big rabid wolf that poops pin worms and tumors? I am sure your new story will kick arse. -
GaryCecil: Haha that sounds pretty gross -

GaryCecil: In final editing phase for "At the bank" contest entry.
William Walz: Hope you don't get robbed while you're "At the bank" -
GaryCecil: I think my characters would rather have been robbed. :) -

GaryCecil: So close to being finished with my "At the bank" contest entry! It's going well!
Christof McTarnahan: I write with a candle too, human fat works the best. Kind of greasy glow... -
    GaryCecil: Haha eww! -

GaryCecil: Does anyone else write with a candle burning? I don't know why, but I cannot write without one. Plus, they smell awesome!
DIS-illusioned: I guess you haven't tried the kind my gran hoards--from the B.C. era, I believe. Trust me, you'd rather be in the dark. -
William Walz: You are right about the candle. And the smaller the better. -
GaryCecil: Yes! Even though I mostly write during the day, the candle burning and lights off in my office room is the best way for me to release my fiction. -
shelley kaye: no. i have a fear of fire....

    -

GaryCecil: Alright, 2.3K words into my new story. I'm going to take a break now and read some more great stuff on FS!

GaryCecil: I am very pleased for my story, Atters, to have reached "Recognized" status. Thank you all for the extremely helpful and kind reviews.

GaryCecil: Thinking of a fun, exciting idea for "At the Bank" contest

GaryCecil: I have such a creepy tale brewing in my mind. I'm going to relax and read Michael Connelly's The Drop, while that baby churns!
DIS-illusioned: Hope you deliver a terrific monster. -
GaryCecil: I hope so too. I actually had to put that story on the back burner for just a little while. I am working on my submission for the contest "At the Bank." -

GaryCecil: I just released my short story called Atters. I hope you all enjoy!
DIS-illusioned: For how long was it incarcerated? :) -
    GaryCecil: Too long! ;) -
