An introduction of me.

The Dreamer.

by John bailey

My pen has lead me this morning,
to talk about myself.
I'm a daydreamer, not about riches
or our own needs, but about who I am,
As I have said before, I love the outdoors and nature.
I use to have access to over six hundred acres, on the mountain,
that I could get to.
I use to go up in October to find the trails that the
animals had made, find places that I could get to,
and be out of the way.
I would come up in November,
find my fallen tree to sit on and lean back, and wait.
When the animals started to move around,
I would leave my world behind and become part of theirs.
It's like a busy diner at breakfast, everyone talking at the same time,
it all becomes a buzz you hear, but are not listening,
I sit quietly in the woods at this time, you hear everything,
the birds singing back and forth,
the Hawk coming in for its morning meal.
The deer rustling the leaves as they walk by.
The fox tail squirrels that would stop to look at me.
In their world, I lose track of time,
"No worries, just a moment in their world.
After about five hours, I
had to move to keep warm.
I would be there all day, right up until dark.
When you hear things you can't see,
you start walking out, when you are
coming out from the bottom, you are stepping back
into your world.
It's time to go home when you hear things
that are unusual, you know there are Bobcats,
you have seen their tracks.
Your steps get a little faster, it's their world now.
These little things that are such a large part of my life,
are now on paper. Age has caught me.
Now I can't climb those hills.
My daydreams are still out there.
This is just a short piece of my life.
I'm just trying to introduce myself.
I'm not a writer
or a poet.
I wish I could write
I wish I was a poet
thank you so much for reviewing
my work.
I will keep doing what I do,
I love the company I'm in
The real writers and the real poets.

I have run long on this I know, I just wanted to say thank you, I love my work because of you.
