There Will be Toilet Paper

Though today there is a shortage,
Tomorrow may be a boom
Our world without toilet paper
Has created a toxic mushroom.

We find the shelves all empty
At the grocers and the mart
How can we come home without it?
Someone's hoarded all in their cart.

This greed can no longer linger
It's driving many of us mad.
What can we use but newsprint?
Our tushes are very sad.

Maybe tomorrow a supply will come
To fill the emptiness in our lives;
I think I'm allergic to news ink
I'm breaking out in hives.

Alas, what can I do but scrounge about,
Beg, borrow or steal a roll
My constitution will have to change
This shortage is taking its toll.

Feeling weary and downtrodden
About something that was always there;
Suddenly what I took for granted
Is no longer anywhere.
