Sober, hazy,days

by MaggieLouise

The true presence of a soul, a realized mind.
What is the ultimate reality of the true presence of a being?
Watered down breath
Scotch on the rocks;
Between sweaty palms
The eternal mind
in split-second intervals.
Have I ever known another soul,
Has one ever known my own?
It's a blessing and a curse, this solitary world
Devilish to become accustomed
Blessed be the time and space
like rays of shimmering sun
to a wilting white rose.
Blood to quench the undead's thirst.
Some unknown desire rings through my ears
Shaking my consciousness
Welling up within my eyes-
This unrealized passion with no way out-
Trapped within and ready to burst!
Let it demolish the foundations of my existence.
Rip me to pieces!
May this hollow shell drop away and let me fly away.
