Classical Statuette

by dovemarie

At the age of eight, I began to study piano. My first recital was at the age of nine. Unfortunately, I tried to play from memory and made all kinds of mistakes. However, I was determined to do better in a contest. At age 11, I attempted to play the scales from memory in less than five minutes. It was my first try, and I won! I proudly went home with a statuette of the classical composer Johann Sebastian Bach. "Aragonaise," a difficult piece, showed the teacher's confidence in me for the next recital. Practice really does make perfect!

I've always loved playing the piano - someday I'll take lessons again. Classical pieces are my favorite. In church, I hear the instrumental "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring" being played at Confession time. Bach composed it. Thanks to VMarguarite from Fan Art Review
