A Sonnet

Bob Marley

by Dolly'sPoems

He spread his love about and was devout
to music and his roaming loving ways;
he charted Reggae melodies with clout,
Jamaica would ring true throughout his days.

A Rastafari icon pioneer,
his spiritual tune would influence.
He rocked the world with songs, he was sincere--
and wailed his way with hits continuous.

Eleven children keep his name alive,
the omnipresent cry of legacy--
his style is etched in history to thrive,
indelible his firm identity.

I smell the marijuana drifting through--
as words he sings leave footprints that are true.
