A mothers Healing

by secondthought

Veola, 5'9, cocoa brown, medium build, with a smile and laugh that draws you into a tender, thought-provoking relationship. As a child, she was a little awkward at first. A few disappointing relationships were stepping stones to a whole new world.

With a determined spirit, taking late-night college classes, she began building strong relationships. Working or just being a loving mom, fate had her in the right place at the right time. NYC opened its doors for those who wanted to become a teacher. Alysande, Rebecca, and Tangie, her 3 young daughters, were fertile preparation grounds for her new career.

Veola wanted her children to be strong in spirit and able to defend themselves from male deceptions, at the same time be smart, self-respecting, quick thinkers, and extremely faithful.

You might call her "THE HEALER". Veola is our family historian. She travels for miles seeking to rescue, share inspiring information, and be reintroduced to friends and family in her retirement years. Plus, she has a surprising knack for making phone calls and embracing others at the right time.

"THE HEALER ", my nickname for her, is my sister and my friend. I like to think that somehow, I played an important role in her formative years.

As a little boy of 5years old, I remember asking in my prayers for a little sister. You guessed it, my sister came as a gift from God. Once in a while, I remind her if it wasn't for my prayers she wouldn't be here. The little boy in me knows that is true beyond a doubt. (to be continued)
