A Curbside Remembrance.

by Loren .

The For Sale sign hangs languid from a weathered post. Momentarily animated by a shrill winter wind, it faintly sways and screeches on rusted "S" Hooks.

Dark windows - vacant eyes- stare outwardly to a barren, yellowed lawn. Fallen, faded oak leaves gather at their sills as crusted tear drops.

Snow begins to fall, a spidery white web, spun by wind gusts, tacks its way across the black- shingled roof.

The stained, greyed exterior, a tombstone's testament of sorrows unforgotten.
