Memories of You, My Son

by Raffaelina Lowcock

The happiness within my heart
Is there forever
And has become a part
Of a long life of love I treasure.

The grasp of your hand when you were so small
As it clutched my finger
Embrace of tiny arms, as from a little doll
And the hug that would linger

The contented face of a satisfied child
The boy that you grew up to be,
The empathetic heart, never riled
And now the love you share with me

What more can a mother ask for in a son
But to see him grown as a man
Not becoming just someone
But doing and being the best that he can

Method of rhyme up to author.

There are so many heartfelt moments that we experience with our children, from the day they are born right on up to where they are forming their own families. These moments can never be taken away from us as long as our memories prevail. They are the champagne of our lives.
