A hidden love is very painful

We Were Just Friends

by Raffaelina Lowcock

I remember when we met
You a young man, so tall, so handsome, so appealing

Me a young woman, an innocent woman,
My heart aflutter with the feeling

Of love a forbidden love
So we were just friends and you never knew

The measure of my heart
You never knew how much I loved you.

Another love poem writing prompt entry
Writing Prompt
Write a two line, four stanza poem describing love. Second line in first stanza must rhyme with fourth line in second stanza, etc.

The heart is such an unpredictable organ in many ways, yet when it comes to love it makes no bones about how it feels. The resulting aura of intimacy is difficult to hide but must indeed stay secret in some instances.
Pays one point and 2 member cents.
