No Greater Truth by Irish Rain

Hi, I really enjoyed the poem and the notes. I am glad you are well after such a (terrifying?) near death experience and that you have found solace through the bible and a benevolent voice to feel confident in your faith of the afterlife. I am studying Psychology and have been told to mistrust anything that claims to be "truth" about life yet that leaves you in quite a lonely position. We all need to feel reassured! Great poem and look forward to more, Pete :)

A really brilliant psychology poem, Mikey. The child within may be happy or damaged but deserves to be embraced - it is a child after all, and I believe, we are all old children rather than adults! That at least is my excuse!! Kidding there but there is truth in the statement. Life is so hard for so many of us it seems to preclude laughter, yet life's lessons can be joyous and comical or they can be a hardship. I hope you're doing well - this is an excellent poem, Pete :)

Interesting poem written from the heart and many of us will relate. The black and white font and background show the intensity of the personal battle you write about. At times we all feel "in the bunker" with bombs raining down on us from above and you capture it very well. I also like the geometry of shapes at the end of the poem - I don't think I've seen that before! Really nice work!

Powerful writing about the horrible wait for diagnosis and prognosis for cancer patients. You seem to stick to the rules of the competition as well as a great message of understanding for people in this position. Best of luck to you in the contest.

Wicked, very very wicked... You are the champion of the unnerving poem! Not been on here for some time but glad to see you are still writing great work. Halloween feels like it's so far away yet the whole year has flown by. Writing for a themed poetry collection sounds really cool with so many great writers on board. I'll try to think of something. Best wishes and hope you're doing well? Pete :)

Hey, Bob. Great news about the publication and making the list! You deserve all of the accolades coming your way with such a distinctive thriller style to your writing. I am soldiering on at college so haven't been on the site for some time but am pleased I checked your page tonight. Very well done and best wishes, Pete :)

Hi, Jeff. I am familiar with Lear and disturbing dreams too. You give excellent analysis to your personal experiences and it is intriguing how you develop your arguments about this. I think Jungian theory was way ahead of the times talking about "shadows", synchronicity and collective unconscious across cultures and historical periods. You write very well about the rich store of thought and dream and I will check in when I can. Best wishes, Pete :)

Wow! So nice to read a poem from you and it's beautiful. The use of the word "costumed" in relation to snow on trees is excellent and took me by surprise so I had to read it again which is great. Sometimes we can feel nature is performing a show for us and you put it so well here. It had a real impact and the palindrome was very well accomplished. Best of luck in the contest, Pete :)

Hi, hope this is about a peacock?! They do have fantastic plumage! Lovely poem in many ways and I like the repetition. Clever to do a sequence of themed poems as it gives a structure for writing when otherwise you could be blocked. Nice one! Pete
