Lol--It's a love/hate relationship! I love reading really great poems, I hate that they all seem better than mine. Great word play, loved "word junkie whore!" Cleverly written, I really enjoyed this. Chris

I love the overall presentation of this poem --the artwork captures the glorious nature of fire, and your poem highlights its terrifying potential. The shaped format is interesting--is it the "fiery scarlet tower" you describe?
Excellent flow throughout, I enjoyed this. Chris

This is a well written and perfectly constructed acrostic poem. Your word/subject of family is a touching reminder of what is important in life--family, biological or otherwise. Favorite line "laughter fills the heart and peace is in the air." Good luck in the contest, Chris

This has a definite beat to it--would be a great entry in a slam poetry event. I love all the rhyme you've used through out the piece.
Favorite lines-- "feel the fire, raise the fist." I enjoyed this! Thanks for sharing, Chris

I really enjoyed this, Roy. I agree it is a bit lighter than some of your others, but your ability to craft marvelous imagery is not lost. I particularly liked the final stanza, "I seek a poet's dream." The artwork with the quote enhances your poem perfectly. Thanks for sharing, Chris

Another excellent installment in this series. I'm not sure how you do it, but Rae's character is becoming even more relatable to the reader. Wonderful descriptive quality in your writing. Chris

Holy cr. . .! This is why I can't watch scary movies--you've captured the fearful suspense of impending doom in this short piece. My imagination engaged and went into overdrive! Is there anything worse than hearing scraping on the other side of a door??
Good luck in the contest! Chris

This is a very emotional piece and you have captured the feelings of anxiety, despair and heartache of seeing a loved leave. Reading this evokes many similar memories of those temporary goodbyes that are so dreadful to endure. Well done. Chris
