A Love Poem
"Love Potion number Nine" by Dolly'sPoems

The magical potion was filled with my love,
I watched as he drank and the stars shone above;
his eyes would soon focus on me, only me—
and love me forever, he’d never be free.

This handsome young stud soon fell head over heels,
he charmed me with stories, made me feel at ease;
he clung to my coat tails, would not let me go,
and all of my friends were in envy, I know.

The trouble with cheating when inside romance,
the heart is just fooled by a magical trance,
and when it wears off, and reality looms—
our eyes are wide open, the magic is doomed.

And when he found out that the potion had worked,
he started to shout, and he just went berserk;
the man that I loved was a monster inside,
and gone was his love, I just wanted to hide.

A lesson was learned about loving someone,
dishonesty maims and will never be fun;
a heart that is open and true from the start,
will bond with a love that will not fall apart.
