Those sparkling eyes and shiny hair,
her youthful pose, a treasure;
there's melody when she is there,
her presence such a pleasure.
To stain such beauty is a crime,
but men will taint the scene;
they'd buzz around this flowery chime,
intentions never clean.
This budding rose with petals loose,
that innocently open;
she welcomed one she did not choose,
and soon her heart was broken.
Enticed into a world of sin,
this pretty rose turned brown;
her thorns were no defence for him,
her smile turned to a frown.
This carefree girl learned how to cope,
the world is harsh and rough;
retaining faith and trusting hope,
was never quite enough.
She navigated through the seas,
where waves were tall and fearful;
and found a guy to melt her tears,
this gentle man was cheerful.
