Many people
walk in
walk out
of our lives

Some leave
casual footprints
some leave heel marks
only a rare few
tiptoe gently
into our hearts

Do we ever stop
to think about
who has walked
all over us
so often we never
even question why

Why do we so often
welcome someone who
only comes when all is well
but gone all other times
still we are the ones
that are at their beck and call

How does it happen then
that those who tiptoe
gently into our hearts
we least often see
speak of the so fondly
but not oftener seek

Are we like human
revolving doors
circling lives and footsteps
only in passing
coming in one way
going out the other
and just keep on walking..
but to whom or where?
