Free verse.
"Silence."
by Sanku
|
SILENCE
I met her many times, in my slow long treks
On starry nights, snowy dawns;
In the witching hour when the city sleeps,
With setting sun on empty sands,
On lonely mountains even with the chuckling brooks.
I loved her when she reigned with her friend, Solitude,
Grateful for the right perspective-
The wisdom and the muse.
Then I glimpsed her other face,
A face of ruin.
She is sinful when words should be raised
She tears the tenuous threads of relations.
She is empty but looms large.
Like a shadow on a lonely side street.
A paradox.
With her, hearts speak to each other,
Without words.
Yet she can widen the rift when words run out.
Silence, she is double faced.

Author Notes
When a friend kept quiet when he should have spoken out, I was very hurt and it ruined a relationship.
Thank you very much, liana miron for the use of this art work.
