"Chess Openings Version 2" by RichardFann

The  Giuoco Pianissimo is the Italian Alamo

The  Rossolimo and the red bishop

The  Moscow variation where moss does not grow

The  Fianchetto and sister stiletto

The  Benko is a jab in the flank

The  Modern Ben-Oni, the one and only

The Bogo Indian is war paint and arrows

The Poisoned Pawn is the unsafe haven.

The Flohr- Mikenas is underpants

The French is full of intent

The English are patient

The Russian is a paradox

The Scandanavian requires sharpness of eye

The Sicilian is a villain millionaire

The Dragon is fire from the dungeon

The Alekhin leaps at Becher’s Brook.

The  Sveshnikov pulls it off

The  Kalashnikov clatters and  splatters

The Monkey‘s Bum is lots of fun

The Pelican flies high in the sky

The Elephant is truculent, not succulent

Birds is a piece of cake

The Morra was played yesterday

The Hedgehog is lost in a fog.

The Four Knights are swords in a fight

The Flick Knife or your life

The Fried Liver Attack has no sausages

The King’s Gambit takes your head off

The Queen’s Gambit is regal and refined

The Kings’ Indian Defence can cause offence

The Queen’s Indian Defence would be my preference

The Reti, like the Yeti, is rare, and stays in its lair.

Author Notes

Yes these are all real chess openings and I know most of them and have played at least half of them in my 55 year chess career.

I published the first version of this 3 years ago. Now I have changed it and improved it.

Pic is my pic.
