"From darkness we came" by Colin Lowley
From darkness, I came

From darkness I came and you were the same,

we knew nothing of before, a womb was our core,

my mother never prayed, no matter what they say,

my life is a play, I am the star all the way.

So, this miracle that is nature, that keeps rolling on,

in our interesting lives that does not last very long,

our very own eternity that is coming to an end,

then we go back into the darkness that's just around the bend.

What mark have we made that others will parade,

in their minds every day until it fades away.

Then into the darkness, they will surely go,

not thinking of us, but of their own show.

Into the darkness from where we once came,

no more worries of life no more everlasting pain,

happy to have been here and found love in our name

then kissed our lover, that bore our children the same.

Thank you, darkness for bringing me here,

it has been fun, and I won't shed a tear,

when you come back and call out my name,

as the lights turn off and I will be as I came.

Author Notes
How lucky we are to survive against the million eggs we came up against in our first battle with life. Then survive and go on to enjoy our own eternity.
