Excellent
Not yet exceptional. When the exceptional rating is reached this is highlighted
old age
"Angels bow" by Colin Lowley
I was cheeky and brash some 70 years ago,
my mother told me, and how I loved her so,
we would go walking in the park, holding hands
make cakes and bread and wash up all the pans.
When she could not work as old age came her way,
we would sit and chatter, forever and a day,
I really got to know her as I looked her in the eye,
Why did they take her! Oh, why- oh why- oh why.
But that was a long time ago it's me they watch now,
Angels! I can see them, some even take a bow,
I will join her quite soon my heart is rather weak,
to her, I will then chatter while the Angels are asleep,
We will get to know each other and fly in the dark,
make unusual landings all just for a lark,
she is not only my mother but also my best friend,
to one Angel to another, this poem must end.
