A proud Dad to three and a proud Grandfather to four.

This work has reached the exceptional level
Not everyone's cup of tea
"My best poem" by Colin Lowley
I am a European and so darn proud of that
I am also very British and wave a union jack
nobody can take it or tell me what to do
I will fight to my death for the red white and blue.

Yet we have started many wars against an unequal foe
destroyed many lives for our King and Queen's show
our ancestors were bold that's why we are all here today
why did they go to church and pray and pray and pray?

It was not because they were stupid as some might think
It was because of tradition, the holy bible was the link
they did what they were told, and that Christ was on their side
don't tell that to the African and the many thousands that died.

"God save the King" in their hearts they would sing
"Onward Christian soldiers" and the death that would bring
to any that did not believe, they were savages on the run
they could then go out and kill with a sword or gun.

But history is lost unless you find a page in time
take away your prejudice and see who did a crime
you can bet it was your forefathers if your white not black
who went on a rampage with their God at the back?

I have my family bible from 1700, way back when
my family were religious, women, children, and men
God was also there marked on every page
until it got to my father, now freedom is the rage.

We are not frightened of death in a hellfire glow
we love one another and without a Christ to sow
we are the happiest of Human's, ho-ho-ho
throw away that bible, time to go with the flow
let your future generations "see the light" that's on show.

All my beautiful children follow nature down the line
when they get to the end, they will hear a final chime
and will know that they have been blessed, in their time.
We only get one chance, and about 80 years is fine.

There is no afterlife, our ancestors can vouch for that
So, it's no good thinking about heaven, that's the trap
no beautiful Angels flying, with your head in their lap
try something new, then give yourself a clap.
