Potlatch - Monometric
"Covid Virus Stress" by Sandra du Plessis

The stress is growing fast each day
it's hard to cope without delay.

Two hundred masks I need to do
this virus threat is very true
I struggle coping, orders due;

the fear on minds of young old
it's more than a common cold,
the numbers rise the truth unfolds
so many busy lives on hold.

Prepare for worse but hope for best
with time we will all pass the test,
for now, we fight against the pest,
our hands kept germ free on request
we pray to God to bring us rest.

Author Notes
The Monometric Form was
Invented by Walter E. Ferguson III, The norm is Augmented Monometric, illustrated below by that author's poem.

***This form requires the poet to begin with a couplet, then augment [add]
each succeeding stanza with ONE more line.
***EACH stanza is to be independent MONO-RHYME.
*** The lines can be of any CONSTANT meter, such as but not limited to,
Iambic trimeter, Iambic tetrameter, Iambic pentameter. Keep lines in the same meter throughout. (then 2 more that rhyme)
