Lost Love
"Because I Remember" by Raffaelina Lowcock
I'm having difficulty, I can't rest
Because of isolation
I'm feeling very stressed
And find no consolation.
I cannot seem to rise above
The feelings are so very deep
Remembering how I lost my love
Within my bed each night, I weep
 This Pandemic forced my grief
This grief within my heart
Please, Lord, I hope that it is brief
It has grasped me from the start
My memories are of Sars
They tumble and they seep
They find the hidden scars
Within my bed each night, I weep.
The hidden tears in a box unopened
Find their way from my closed eyes
Along my cheeks and in the end
Denying they be only sighs
What can I do from day to day
To return to peaceful sleep?
I truly know that I must pray
Within my bed each night, I weep.
