I see and hear someone different
"Illusion" by persevere
I look in the mirror
and don't see myself
as others see me
I listen to a recording
of my voice
and it really doesn't
sound like me
Am I an illusion?

Author Notes
Thanks to cleo85 for the mirror illustration.
Hearing:A scientific explanation is that we hear our own voice in two different ways. The first is through vibrating sound waves hitting our ear drum, the way other people hear our voice. The second way is through vibrations inside our skull which give a false sense of bass. A recording thus sounds distinctly higher.
Seeing: A mirror image, which is where we see ourself, gives a lateral inversion image. When compared with a photograph of one self, which is what others see, the lateral inversion is obvious.
