Four Complementary Views
"Why Are the Gospels Different?" by Deniz22

Each Gospel is dedicated to a different view of Jesus, so everyone can have a complete picture of Him. This is similar to holding a huge diamond in the light and turning it to try and absorb all its beauty and brilliance from different angles.

The Gospel of John's main focus is to present Jesus as the Son of God, the only begotten of the Father. The core of this focus is the Deity of Christ, and is the reason "I AM" is used in it's pages. "I AM" is the answer given to Moses when he asked God what name he should give the Israelites when asked who sent him.

Christ's very real sinless humanity is seen most prominently in Luke, where His title is Son of Man and is often repeated throughout.

Matthew shows Him as the King/Shepherd/Messiah of Israel, come to seek and to save the lost sheep of the house of Israel. Reference is also made to the time when He will rule the nations as the Lion of the tribe of Judah.

Mark portrays Him as the suffering servant of Jehovah, humbling Himself, not claiming His rights as God. Peter recognized this fact and was reluctant to allow Him to wash his feet.

In all the four Gospels He is always the complete One, though His composite facets and roles be emphasized more singularly in the four views.

Author Notes
That You May Believe John 20:30,31:

30 And truly Jesus did many other signs in the presence of His disciples, which are not written in this book; 31 but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name.
