Exceptional
This work has reached the exceptional level
almost a contest entry
"Missing My Wife" by Mark Valentine
I missed my wife last night
It started out so right
My next of kin
Was squarely in
The crosshairs of my sight

I pulled the trigger tight
Just then a bird took flight
Made my wife flinch
Thus by an inch
The bullet sailed wide right

Then came a black and white
They slapped the cuffs on tight
Now I’m the law’s
And all because
I missed my wife last night

Author Notes
I was going to enter this in the "Missing Your Partner" contest, but then I read the other entries and realized I was misinterpreting the intent of the contest.
Pays one point and 2 member cents.
