Rejection.
"No Thank You" by Raffaelina Lowcock

While at a high school dance, with friends, Bob Warton from my Grade 9 class asked me to dance.  From that first night’s dance we became what I thought were close friends as at each succeeding dance, he sought me out.

Later that year, there was a night when I saw him dancing with another friend of mine.  It was a tag dance so with a smile on my face for them, I tagged him.  He looked right through me and said.  "No thanks."

I was stunned.  Humiliated, I felt the heat in my red face, as they danced away.

Author Notes
Rejection from who you thought was a friend, digs deep down into your soul and hangs on indefinitely, especially when you are a teenager. I learned a lot that night.

Thanks for reading this.
