Marching in unison
"Sound Off, Sound Off" by jaybird1
The drill sarge never missed a beat.
hup- two- three- four
He listened for our marching feet.
hup- two- three- four

You had a good home, but you left.
sound off, sound off
I'm happy here, proud of myself.
sound off, sound off.

I had a gal from Kalamazoo.
left right, left right
She loved me and I loved her too.
left right, left right.

If I get back to my dear home,
in cadence count, in cadence count
I'll park myself and never roam.
in cadence count, in cadence count.

Written- early 1944

Author Notes
During basic training in World War 2 Air Force our drill sarge kept us in precise
unison with these commands, while we sang silly made up songs. I will always
remember- jaybird
