"Not As It Seems" by AJ McCall

Red-blue lights glowed behind Maria's car. She frowned, pulling beside a curb. 

Maria recognized the officer walking to her. Her heart pounded. 


"Ma'am, exit the car, please,"

She obeyed, and he reached into his belt. Then he dropped on one knee with a velvet case.

"Will you marry me?"

My brother gave me this idea. I thought it would be a nice spin. Although, it's only so much you can do with 50 words but hey, hope you enjoy it! :)
