Exceptional
This work has reached the exceptional level
Your work affects folks more than you know.
"Applauding The Courage To Write" by Cynthia Adams1
"Her story clearly missed the mark."
"His play caught us mid-yawn."
"The poem left folks in the dark."

Ten words in...conclusions drawn.

We are the motley crew of penmen
Bleeding out each day.
Our minds spew with abandon;
Our hearts are free to play.

We look for praise unjustified;
We yearn for love unearned.
Our inner critic mystified:
I still get 4-- I've never learned?

Our learning curve admittedly
Has quite a nasty slope.
We trudge back up unfittedly
Our next plunge fueled by hope.

Many days we finish beat,
Too many days to count,
Needing some accomplished feat,
Something real to flaunt.

Listen here: You do not know
When work will make its mark.
Think Raven by the drunken Poe;
Think Gettysburg and Noah's Ark.

It only takes a moment's time
To fill another's heart.
With kindly words or jaunty rhyme--
they do not feel "apart."

Take your pen out every day,
Stand unbent and brave.

You go to work when they delay--
Take that proudly to your grave.

Author Notes
My love and respect to all who put themselves out there with their words, especially when it's really hard to do it.
